Folk Nights @ Botallack
The original Folk Club at Botallack is steeped in history and was once the epicentre of the Cornish Folk music scene.
With performances by Brenda Wotton and John the Fish in particular, Botallack Count House was the place to be in the 1960s to 1980s. People came from as far as Devon for the evening just to listen and perform here at the Count House. As the scene changed and many of the main players moved on the Folk Club disbanded over time.
In 2023 we decided that with the help of the local community we would endeavour to 'bring Folk back' to the Count House, where it belongs! Since its new beginnings, the club has established quite a following, from both performers and spectators.
The club is an informal, friendly and free, vibrant environment with an eclectic mix of sound, from instrumentation and vocals. Everyone is welcome, no matter the talent or ability level.
