Welcome To Count House Mossel
Count House Mossel is located across the road from the Count House Cafe, heading towards the iconic headgear. You will find out 'take away hatch' just around the corner, where we serve our take away food items. We offer a variety of food, including our homemade Cornish Pasties, sausage rolls and cakes. We also offer a wide selection of cold drinks and Foundation Coffee from the Mossel.
From Spring - Autumn we increase our menu to include sandwiches, paninis, soup and more, all to take away, you can even grab a St Ives Brewery beer to enjoy with a Pasty! Just in front of the Mossel there is a picnic area where guests can sit and enjoy the breathtaking views across the Atlantic, or the iconic mining landscape carved out here at Geevor

Count House Mossel History
'Mossel' - Food Break (West Cornwall)
You might have heard of the terms 'Crib' or 'Croust', but in this area miners often used 'Mossel' to describe food break (with a pasty of course!) There is even a 'Mossel Bench' here on site at Geevor Tin Mine where miners would sit for Mossel

That's why we use Cornish grown, made, crafted and sourced products in every single dish. By buying and sourcing Cornish, we help other local business to thrive and keep producing the highest quality goods that find their way to our plates.
We have been producing hand crafted goods at the Café since 1997, our Cornish Pasties have been hand made in our kitchen daily since we opened. All of our cakes, and baked goods are also made in our kitchen, along with Breads, Pastries, Sauces and more. We work hard to help other local, Cornish businesses prosper by buying from them. We are especially proud that we only use Cornish Dairy products and meat from local farms. So everytime you buy with us you can rest assured that you will be buying something Cornish and helping to support our local economy.
