Welcome to the Count House Cafe, our three generation, family run business here at Geevor Tin Mine in Pendeen.
2025 has been an exciting year here at the Cafe. We had a full refurbishment of the Cafe and Kitchen, being completed in early February. We have kept bringing you our brand of high-quality, hand-crafted food we have become known for, with some new and exciting dishes and beverages too. We are still open 7 days a week serving you breakfast, lunch, coffee & cake, and afternoon light bites.
The Cafe is available for private hire, parties, functions and Civil Ceremonies. After getting our licence this year to host Civil Ceremonies, we hosted our first one, which was a huge success! Get in touch with us for any enquiries you have about hiring/booking a function - we're happy to help with anything.

We are based at Geevor Tin Mine, Pendeen Cornwall. We are open all year around, for both non-ticket holders for the mine site and mine visitors. Why not visit us after a tour of the tin mine site, after a long walk along the cliffs or if you just fancied popping down for brekkie!

Count House Cafe History
Opened in 1997 the Count House Café was originally a storage facility at Geevor Tin Mine, until funding from Cornwall Council and English Heritage transformed it into a Café. Since 1997 and still to this day our Cornish Pasties are hand made daily from scratch, using a recipe passed down through three generations. Over the years we have worked hard to keep our traditional methods and recipe's in tact for an authentic Cornish experience, while adding modern twists along the way!

Our Ethos
Here at the Count House Café we believe that in order to make the best food we need to use the best ingredients and produce. That's why we use Cornish grown, made, crafted and sourced products in every single dish. By buying and sourcing Cornish, we help other local business to thrive and keep producing the highest quality goods that find their way to our plates.
We have been producing hand crafted goods at the Café since 1997, our Cornish Pasties have been hand made in our kitchen daily since we opened. All of our cakes, and baked goods are also made in our kitchen, along with Breads, Pastries, Sauces and more. We work hard to help other local, Cornish businesses prosper by buying from them. We are especially proud that we only use Cornish Dairy products and meat from local farms. So everytime you buy with us you can rest assured that you will be buying something Cornish and helping to support our local economy. From the salt on your chips to the skirt in your pasty, we're proud to support local. |
We welcome well behaved dogs on leads with responsible owners. (Please be aware that the cafe can get very busy and hot, it is the owners responsibility to ensure that theconditions are suitable for their dog). |

Outdoor Seating
While we do not own or manage the outdoor seating it is available to be used by our customers and ticket holders at Geevor.
Order inside and our friendly staff will be happy to bring food and drinks to you. |
